Brisbane psych-pop quartet The Good Sports have been making waves in their native Australia for a little while receiving airplay from the likes of Triple J, FBI Radio, 4ZZZ and RRR from their debut EP ‘Mandarin Time’. The Good Sports are now gearing up for the release of their debut album ‘Peak Performance’ set for release on Strong Island Recordings (UK) and Strange Yonder (Australia) via cassette and digital download on the 7th August.

The Brisbane based outfit are the latest act from the seemingly unstoppable Australian psych movement spearheaded by the likes of Tame Impala, Pond, Gum and King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard. The Good Sports though incorporate more jangly, sixties like pop into their sound and their debut album ‘Peak Performance’ is sun soaked, blissed out, psych meets surf-pop at its finest. It’s the perfect album for sitting on a beach with a few tinnies soaking up a tan in the sun.

‘Titled Peak Performance it sees the band self-produce their finest and most unique work yet. Guitars swap from swirling, modulating melodies drenched in reverb and delay, to fuzzy sixties-influenced leads and back again.’ (Tone Deaf)
